Margaret Samson (Maggie)
Born & Studied in Tanzania. After acquiring my bachelors of Art in education, I dedicated my life doing something that I always wanted to do. I had passion for animals & wildlife in general. I have dedicated most of my time learning and observing both domestic & wildlife animals which lead me to get more involved by being attached to it. Attended different Wildlife Courses in the Country and travelled extensively outside the Country both in reflection of the Tourism Industry. I have an experience over 14 years in the Industry where I started working for Unique Safaris as an Tour/Operations Manager for 3 years, before I joined Shades of Africa (Albatros Travel) where I worked as Senior Operations Manager for 10 years before I decided to step down and start my own. Africanzoom Adventure Tours (AZAT) has occupied my time since January 2010 and I have struggled to make sure that it gets off the ground. I’m the Board member for Arusha Society for Protection of Animals which is non-profit organization dealing with domestic animal welfare. Despite my time being limited, I’m also involved in community work to help support projects associated with helping orphans, women in rural areas with developing simple projects to help their families endeavors, which I work closely with Hearts in Unity an US base Non-profit Organization with its head office in Germantown,Wisconsin WA. I have a great team which I work with and I’m proud to have them as part of AZAT. We work extensively with no time limit to make sure that you our customers are take care off. Your comfort ability is our demand, come join the adventure experience.

Emmanuel G Shirima (Driver guide)
He is born & raised in Tanzania. He attended his secondary education from 1996 to 1999, after completion, he joined Mount Meru Tour Guides specializing in wildlife and international languages which he acquired both a certificate of Wildlife Management & advance certificate of Wildlife Courses. He is fluent in French & English. He has been on the Tourism field since 2005, he has joined Africanzoom Adventure Tours Ltd and considering to pursue his knowledge in different aspects and at the spare time he loves ready wildlife books to acquire more information about the current wildlife.

Elizabeth Mafita (Tour Consultant)
After completing her high school at John Paul the second at Kahama in Tanzania, she was lucky to join Tumanini University taking the Bachelor of science in Hospitality and Tourism management. She has been working on field basis at different Tour Companies trying to gain more experience and practical knowledge of the field. She has joined Africanzoom Adventure Tours and she likes having more to deal with which could build her career. She likes reading books, learning more on the wildlife.

Thomas Alfred (Mt. Guide)
Born 1979 in Arusha Region, he studied Themi Primary School and later joined for Ordinary level at Machame Secondary School. In 1997 he joined Mount Meru Tour guiding college for a period of nine months, acquired ordinary/advanced certificates of tour guiding. He later got a scholarship to join College of African Wildlife Management (MWEKA) got a Certificate Level. He started as a porter on Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2002 for 2 years and later managed to go as an Assistant Guide for 2 years. He was then chosen to attend Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park course for two weeks whereby he was licensed as a full Mt. Guide on all routes up on Mt. Kilimanjaro. He experience was challenging and needed a lot of hard work especially when it comes to weather, windstorm. Since he loves nature and adventure he always feel great doing his job. He is a qualified Wildlife First Aid Responder (WFR).

Alex John (Mt. Guide)
Born in 1982 at Arusha region in Tanzania, he graduated the Certificate of Wildlife Management course at the College of African Wildlife Management College, (MWEKA in June 2009). Attended Tour Guide course in Ordinary and Advance level Certificates at Mt. Meru Tour Guide College the year 2001/02.
He has been guiding on Mt. Kilimanjaro and Meru for the past seven years now, after hiking a as a porter for conservative 4 years (2000/04). He also acquired guiding experiences to the Northern Parks of Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Tarangire, Manyara, Arusha National Park as well as Mkomazi National Parks, managed to extend to Southern Circuit to Ruaha National Park. He has enjoyed his time as a Mountain Guide with so many experiences at times of unusual snow, storm. In 2006 he experienced rock sliding on the western breach; it was scary but adventurous too. He also has Wildlife First Aid Responder (WFR)
Richard J. Mbwambo (Cook)
Born in 1974 at Mto wa Mbu in Manyara District – Arusha Region, he went to Mto wa Mbu Primary school and after completion, he joined Ekenywa Secondary School in Arusha where he completed his O’Level Educations. 1995 he joined New Arusha College for 1 year to and got a certificate for food & beverages and later managed to get his first training at Ngorongoro Crater lodge. He later decided that he wanted to get more exposed and thus joined Nyika Trucks & Safaris as their camp cook, then worked at Mt. Kilimanjaro Safari Club. He decided to move on to Albatros Travel for 3 years before he landed at Africanzoom Adventure as a Chief Chef. He likes his time here as he gets to know a lot of things and there are more challenges.

Hussein Shaban (Cook)
He completed his primary education at Mto Wa Mbu, then joined Manyara Secondary School. After completion, he decided to join catering course at CATAS Institute College where he got his certificate of Catering Services. His first appointment was with Sengo Safaris in early 90’s as a Camp cook, then he joined Kikoti Camps as a chef and later decided that he needs an exposure and thus joined Mt. Treks as a Mountain/Safari Cook with Albatros Travel, NORDIC Travel & Love Life Africa. In 2010 he joined Africanzoom Adventure where he now works as an assistant Chef/cook.

Mohamed R. Deva (Porter/Kitchen attendant)
Born in October 1978, he went to Primary School at Mchikichini in Dar-es-salaam. He later joined ordinary level of Education at Kilakala Secondary school in Morogoro Region. After completion, I had a passion with adventure activities and thus ended up doing Porter work at Mt. Kilimanjaro. He enjoys his work so much, he has an experience over 5 years now.

Benson Naftael (Porter)
Born 1982 in Arusha Region, he studied at Burka Primary School 1991- 1997. Later joined Burka Secondary School for his Ordinary Level Education, I wasn’t lucky to complete my education due to my parents financial constraints and thus I decided to work in a car garage as a painter. Later I changed my job from garage car painter to Carpenter industry. 2004 my friends asked me if I was ok going on the Mountain as a porter, I thought it was a great idea and thus I joined working as a porter on different Companies such as Tanzania Rift Valley company, Active Africa till 2008.
He started his English course at Keyfield Institute of language, which kept me busy with going up on the Mountain and once I’m back in town go to school. He enjoys his time working on the Mountain although it’s a tough work especially being a porter but, but he is also looking at going back to school. He is confident with the guides such Tom and Alex will help him accomplish his dreams some day, he loves Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Goodluck E. Ndossi (Porter/Mess attendant)
Born in 1987 in Kilimanjaro Region , he went to Wasendo Primary School and later joined 3 different ordinary level Secondary school first with Uroki Secondary, then Pasua Secondary School for three years before transferred to Dar es Salaam at Kimanga secondary school. He completed in 2005 and then managed to join professional Tour guide Courses in Arusha Region where he qualified for a Certificate in Tour Guide. He then decided to look for a job, but it was not easy and thus joined Mt. Kilimanjaro as a porter. He has worked difference companies such as Albatros Africa, Safari hikers, Dik Dik and now works with Africazoom. He is experience, full of knowledge and enough skills of managing things. He has been working on different departments on the Mountain and managed to master them well. He is looking in the coming days to become a Mountain Guide. He has worked on both Mt. Kilimanjaro & Mt. Meru

Thomas M. Sangayo (Porter)
Born 17th May 1982 Primary school I study Sekei and after completing my Primary school. I join the Secondary Enaboishu but on this I have never be able to complete my ordinary certificate level as my parents didn’t manage the school expenses. There for I quite the school on 2000 and started to work in mountain Kilimanjaro as porter till now.

EVARIST PETER [ CHEF]
Born in 1983 and started primary school in 1992 up to 1998 then I joined secondary school in 1999 up 2002. Joined Hotel management at St john college for 9 month then he was trained at Arusha hotel for a month after that he worked for 6 months at the hotel there after he left and started working with Tourism companies currently he is working with African Zoom
I do like to remain in Tourism industry while pursuing more studies related to the industry.
